"The Patient" was my first real foray into hard rock, with a little bit of a nod to some of the feel of one of my earliest songs, "Echo Papa". It was the first song I released after I left the record label with which I'd previously been signed for two years. As such, I attempted to come out firing on all cylinders, filming my first ever music video in the process!
Inspired by C.S. Lewis's "The Screwtape Letters", the song is about temptation and corruptions of the heart, a subject I would revisit much throughout the creation of Middle Aegis, as well as later on in songs like "Wait of The World".
