Ender Bowen surpasses all expectations on LP, “The Art of Tactful Procrastination”

After six years of creating and fine tuning, a masterpiece of a record has just been released by Ender Bowen titled The Art of Tactful Procrastination. Please read along with us as break down our complete thoughts on the album, as well as an insight on the artist.

Made up of swirling synthesizers, bombtastic drum sequences, and a vocal delivery as smooth as silk, we’ve had our expectations surpassed by Ender Bowen’s newest record, The Art of Tactful Procrastination. Influenced by the likes of U2 and David Bowie, we couldn’t help but get a strong feeling of Dan Deacon in his absolute prime. However you’d like to compare it, it really is an original artform that is worth all your time and attention.

On the record itself from the artist behind the music, Ender tells us, “This album – a 6+ year project – is about the struggle to realize your dreams and successfully pursue your passions, particularly as you get older and come into more adult responsibilities and obligations. What is your legacy? Who are you if you don’t have one? Who do these things matter to? Who do you become if you don’t chase these dreams? Who do you become if you do?” We could not possibly agree more, sometimes things are worth taking the plunge, especially when the outcome is putting literal smiles on peoples’ faces.

We’ll admit it right out of the gate, but this was our first introduction to anything music-related from Ender Bowen, however we’re so thankful his music has come into our lives. This was the type of listen for us that just completely and sonically exceeded anything we could imagine. From the super innovative album cover setting the tone for the music, things only got better as the album progressed. While there were certainly a handful of genres explored, we suppose you could call it a heavier version of synth-inspired rock and roll. Really though, it’s sort of in a league of its own when it comes to classification.

Infinite standouts crossed our minds as we continued to listen, but far and away the vocals, drumming, and top notch production are what left us feeling the best after our first run through. There’s literally nothing that we could pinpoint here and change for the better, and we hope this doesn’t feel like an overhype situation, but we’re just so impressed with what we’ve heard. More ears need to get on this as soon as possible.
